H.E Yoweri Museveni assured the people of Uganda that if he is elected the president again in the February’s polls, he would turn the Kampala-Jinja highway into a four-lane dual carriage way so that the traffic could be reduced and to look out for the opportunities that include the cultural leaders in politics.
The president said the Cultural Leaders Bill 2010 that was passed into the law was to stop the traditional leaders from engaging themselves in politics not to devastate them. He said those like Nambooze Betty that think that is what his aim is do not want the cultural institutions and that they are the ones who want to spoil them. In 1966, President Milton Obote eliminated all the kingdoms for 27 years and when Museveni came into power, he restored them and that he has never used the Kabakaship to gain the president position at any one time.
Mr.Museveni said the kono-Kyetume-Katosi-Kisoga-Nyenga road would be built and the main hospital in Mukono.He also said that there would be free education and technical skills for the students at A’ level and those that will study so well and do not get the government sponsorship at the university would get the student loans so that they can pay their tuition then pay back after working.
All the above was said on Thursday at a public meeting at Nakisunga Sub-county playing field in Mukono South Constituency. The president also told the people to elect the clever man wearing a hat and all the other NRM candidates because it’s the only party that will manage the problems of Uganda.
