EASTERN UAGANDA BRIDGES AND ROADS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

A few weeks back, disaster conditions have been witness unto the road transport after the hammering rains that have been flowing in Eastern Uganda not so long ago. These heavy rains are said to have washed away the bridge between Moroto and Nakapiripirirti. However not only the bridge was affected but it also put an end to 6 districts that use that road to the rest of the country. The community members where deified assess to the rest of the country. This with no doubt has affected tourism in Kidepo National Park, never the less, reports got from then sites of destruction have it that a new bridge is being built and in two weeks time it will be done. Not only that bridge is being worked on but also the rest of the affected roads that area estimated to be 10 in the area due to floods are being worked on as well.

As a result of the sudden closer of roads to the National Parks, tourists have resulted to using charter flights to the National Park. However, due to the fact that tours are carried out as usual, it’s important to note that the roads are needed with out no doubt mostly for the wananchi which also is an important link to the border triangle of Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan.

This reaction to rebuild the roads has not only helped the local community but has also rescued the tourism industry in the Eastern part of Uganda from going to waste due to the rampant rain season that is un avoidable each year that comes along.
