Ugandan hotels get an International eye-opener

The higher the Uganda’s tourism rating shots higher, the higher are the opportunities for the Uganda hotels to seek into the bigger market where the worldwide travelers spend most of their time. This has come  a short time after the world’s biggest online travel company, Expedia, Inc and Africa’s Great Explorations (A.G.E Safaris), an East African tour and travel company came together to produce the best results. According to the report produced by new vision, the two parties are working alongside each other so that they can help publicize the Uganda hotels to a greater number of travelers from all over the worldwide.

Diego Lofeudo who is the senior director of market management for Expedia in Africa mentioned that they are actually glad that they are able to provide Uganda’s hotel with an opportunity to improve on their business through presenting whatever they have got on Expedia’s global travel sites and they capture the attention of so many international travelers who would not be able to see these hotel if they are not on this site.  Expedia’s global travel sites together with A.G.E. Safaris, they have a local squad that they are using to help Ugandan hotels successfully get what they have o line for marketing.

Diego also mentioned that at the moment once a hotel goes into partnership with Expedia, they have a chance to get in contact with about 60 million travelers form about 70 countries from all over the world every month. Expedia is at present working with about 149,000 hotels as well as over hundreds of airlines, so many rental car companies, cruise liners and tour operators from over 200 different locations all over the world.

Expedia has got it main branch in the USA and it is operating in different parts of the world like Europe, the Middle East and Africa and in Asia-Pacific too as well as South America. It involves so many hotel relationship managers and revenue management specialists which are usually in local markets to help out on the hotel in setting up online distribution policies to follow. Not so long ago, the Expedia’s local hotel relationship team and the A.G.E Safaris conducted a business meeting for Uganda hotels at the Serena Conference Centre.

It is now clear that they Ugandan hotel managements have adopted the system of having the bookings made on line rather than having a travel agent involved something that people from the western world do not like.   Amos Wekesa, the director of Great Lakes Safaris appreciated the move and said that this is the best opportunity for Ugandan hotels to get more business and also help to market all that Uganda has got to offer to the tourists.
