Great news coming in from Kenya ‘s capital city Nairobi reveal that the Korean Air is planning on increasing on the number of flights in Nairobi and will soon start flying out Kenya’s coffee and flowers directly to Korea, Japan and China. This follows the announcement from the Airline that they hope to fly in more than the three times that they have been flying in a week and start having to daily flights.
According to Kim Chan Woo who is the Korean ambassador to Kenya, This will help reduce on the expense as well as the time these two commodities take before they are exported into the three nations since they have to pass via some Western capitals. He said all this while on the courtesy visit to Tourism minister Danson Mwazo’s office and he also urged the Kenyan businessmen to use the airline as their entry point into the Asian markets.
The Airline got lots of criticism from Kenyans when it released an unpleasant advert on its website that it has since deleted and went on to apologize for. Korea Air officially opened their direct flights to Kenya in June this year and also intends to use Nairobi as their major entry point so that they can compete favorably in the regional airlines market.
Korean Air has been serving major destinations in Africa through code sharing with Kenya Airways, one of the Sky Team alliance members.
