Steward discovered Serengeti. In the years from the time of the White’s excursion under “the high noble arc of the cloudless African sky,” Serengeti has turned out to represent the ecstasy of a good number of us. The Maasai, who had fed their cattle on the wide grassy plains for millennia had for all times thought so. According to them, it was Siringitu – “the place where the land moves on forever.”
