Uganda Horse Riding Safari Tours Africa

Day 1 Arrival
 On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our representative who will  transfer you to the Speke resort Munyonyo for your over night.
If you are not so tired and there is still time, you will go for Horse riding safaris .
The Speke Equestrian Centre is good for a relaxing weekend getaway on a lakeside safari, a day's ride in the fresh air, or just a couple of hours cantering and trotting and enjoying the scenery of the lakeside and bush tracks,  It offers the visitor everything from a complete riding holiday to trail rides and lessons, suitable for every level of riding enthusiast from beginner to accomplished. You will have a guide to take you around the trails .return to the Hotel for your over night.

Day 2  To Jinja
hve breakfast and Transfer directly to Jinja . Along the way ,you will visit Mabira Forest for a nature walk around and then after proceed to Jinja the source of the mighty Nile- The Longest river in Africa.Diner and over night at Jinja Nile Resort

 

Day 3 Nile Horse riding
After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken for Nile Horseback Safaris, you will meet the horses and guides and we will get ready to ride by 11am. The horses are Thoroughbred’s, and who after early careers on the racetrack in Kenya, have been re-trained for eventing, and safari trekking. They are completely bombproof in traffic, around wildlife and with local village children. They range in size from 14.1h to 17h and are beautifully fit.   You will  ride in English style saddles.
Once all the luggage has been loaded into the safari vehicle and everyone has been introduced to the crew, we will begin, heading down the edge of the Nile River. This section of the ride encompasses villages, jungle, stream crossings and even moving through swamps. We will spend some time swimming with the horses in the Nile and then after approximately 4 hours in the saddle we will arrive at the Haven, a beautiful riverside lodge situated above a huge rapid. In the afternoon you have the option of a swim in the river a sunset cruise, fishing or just chilling out while enjoying the view.  Dinner and over night at The Havens.

Day 4 White water rafting
This morning after breakfast we  will be transferred to Bujagali falls  for a day of white water thrills and spills! Heading off to the source of the Nile, we load up in rubber rafts before braving some of the biggest white water in Africa. The river is termed relatively safe though, as the water flushes into big ponds below each rapid, and if you do fall in the water is beautifully warm! You’ll be back with the horses, and a well deserved night’s sleep!  Dinner and over night at The Havens.

Day 5 Horse ride / Swim
We’ll saddle up later today and head to the rainforest. Massive avenues of rainforest trees guard the dirt tracks, monkeys chatter overhead and the local villagers will stare and laugh in amazement, most of them never having seen horses before. There are amazing birds, such as the Great Blue Turaco, flying around everywhere, orchids, creepers and vines and roots to walk across, monkeys like Vervet and Red Tails chattering away at our passing. Sometimes you will glimpse some of the shy village people, still dressed in skins and carrying hunting spears, peering out from behind fronds before breaking into magnificent smiles and dances of delight upon seeing the horses.We will arrive at The Mabira Rain Forest Lodge set deep in the forest. It is a brand new luxury lodge, where we will stay for the night.

Day 6  Ride back
This morning we ride back stopping enroute to see the obelisk commemorating Speke and the official source of the world’s longest river. We will pass down spectacular parts of the bank of the Nile to finally reach the end of your River – Jungle – Village - Lake horseback safari.

Once you have finished you will be transffered back to Kampala for dinner and over night at Cassia Lodge


Day 7:   TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked from your hotel in the morning at 7 am, and leave South Westwards. Take a stop over at the Equator then proceed to Bwindi. This drive takes you through the beautiful sceneries of the Western part of Uganda which is sometimes known as the Switzerland of Uganda. Have lunch en route and then proceed to the park passing through the gorgeous undulating landscapes of the Switzerland of Uganda! We then continue for the last part. On the last hill of the landscape is the  vast plane of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo the Virunga volcanoes dominate the view. In the North is the Northern sect of Bwindi national park and in the south is Mgahinga and the Southern part of Bwindi. The drive might be long but is rewarding with beautiful sceneries and artistic African exquisiteness. Dinner and Over night at Gorilla resort camp.

OR Travelers rest Hotel if you are  tracking gorillas in the Nkuringo family. Travelers Rest Hotel is set out side Kisoro and it proffers a pleasant stay for the tourists, who come to see the endangered mountain gorilla. The hotel, built in a rather colonial style, and utterly refurbished in 1999. Because of its content quality, Dianne Fossey a writer on Gorillas remarked that it was her second home when she was doing research about gorillas.

Day 8; GORILLA TRACKING
This is one of the awaited for day with one of the highlight activities of this tour. Well prepared with you packed lunch, cameras, water, rain jackets, long pair of trouser and jungle boots on, you will assemble for briefing from the rangers about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience!  The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is unpredictable for it may take1-10 hours. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure a certificate awaits the successful tracker. The day is not easy at times but appealing. Return to your lodge for dinner and over night.


Day 9: TO KAMPALA

Early morning, after breakfast we will drive back Kampala.


 Note that this tour can begin on any of the dates you have chosen given the fact that we still have some gorilla permits left for each starting date. However, given the high demand of gorilla permits, it is better you inform us as soon as possible of your booking status so that we reserve your gorilla permits  before your dates are fully booked.
