This activity will include walking up the steep thick forested hills before eventually finding these gorillas in their natural habitat. It is a very thrilling encounter. The trek which may take 2-6 hours requires good hiking boots since a lot of walking is required. On finding them, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence taking photos and observing them cater for one another, feed and play. You will be stunned by the sheer size of the dominant male – the silver back. With less than 700 gorillas remaining in the world this will be a very memorable experience. If time allows, you will enjoy a short guided walk along the Munyaga River trail, to see the three beautiful waterfalls, ferns, orchids and colorful butterflies. Later retire to your lodge for dinner and the overnight.

Although this is a tiring activity, it is also very rewarding. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, and later have a late lunch. A number of the gorilla families are more challenging to track and may take the entire day especially if it is rainy and muddy.
You will drive back to Uganda and have dinner and overnight at Bushara Island Camp, or Habuharo Island Camp, or Arcadia cottages.
After breakfast you will visit the cultural museums within Kabale and then transfer to Kampala or directly to Entebbe for your departure flight.
