Itinerary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your guide and transfer to Cassia Lodge overlooking Lake Victoria. Rest and prepare for the journey ahead.
Drive east to Mbale, passing through lush landscapes and bustling rural towns. Visit the Gisu community to learn about their unique circumcision rites, followed by a visit to the Abayudaya Jewish community. Optional overnight stay with the community or return to Mbale Resort Hotel/Mount Elgon Hotel.
Head to Jinja to explore the true source of the Nile and visit Bujagali Falls, rich with local legends. Lunch at Gately on the Nile and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort or Gately on the Nile.
Journey west to Fort Portal with scenic views en route. In the afternoon, take a guided walk through farmlands to Mahoma Waterfall and the crater rim. Overnight at Crater Safari Lodge.
Venture towards the Ituri Rainforest to visit pygmy communities for an intimate cultural encounter. Picnic lunch en route. Return to Fort Portal for dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge.
Begin the day with chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park—home to 13 primate species. Enjoy sightings of butterflies and rare birds before returning to the lodge. Overnight at Crater Safari Lodge.

Venture into Bwindi's dense rainforest to track a family of mountain gorillas. After an unforgettable hour in their presence, return to the lodge to relax. Overnight at previous lodge.
Cross into Rwanda via Cyanika border and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Briefing about the next day’s gorilla trekking. Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Track a second gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park. With packed lunch in hand, hike through the volcanic rainforest and spend one memorable hour with these majestic primates. Overnight at Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Trek to observe the playful golden monkeys in the forest. After lunch, transfer to Kigali for a visit to the Genocide Memorial and local markets. Overnight at Gorilla Golf Hotel.

FAQs
Uganda’s dry seasons — from December to February and June to September — are ideal for game drives and primate trekking. Gorilla trekking is possible year-round, but trails are drier and more accessible during these months.
Gorilla trekking can be moderately strenuous, with hikes lasting anywhere from 2 to 6 hours in mountainous forest terrain. A reasonable fitness level and good hiking boots are recommended. Chimp trekking is generally less intense but still involves uneven forest paths.
While sightings are highly likely especially with experienced trackers they are not guaranteed due to the wild nature of these primates. That said, success rates are well above 90%.
Children under 15 are not permitted on gorilla or chimpanzee treks. For families, other wildlife activities can be tailored to suit younger participants.
