Optional visits:
- Kimironko Market – a bustling local market
- Caplaki Crafts Village – for handmade souvenirs
- Hotel des Mille Collines – inspiration for Hotel Rwanda
Enjoy lunch in the city, then embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive north to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze.
Overnight & Dinner Options:

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a safety briefing and gorilla group allocation.
Begin your gorilla trek into the misty forest, led by experienced rangers and trackers. Trekking duration ranges from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the group’s location. Terrain can be steep and muddy – moderate fitness is required.
Once you locate the gorilla family, spend one magical hour in their presence. Watch them feed, groom, and play — an experience that is humbling and unforgettable.
Return to the lodge for a late lunch and some rest.

Track energetic golden monkeys through bamboo forests and observe their playful antics in the wild. - Dian Fossey Tomb Hike:
A rewarding hike (2–3 hours each way) to the tomb of renowned primatologist Dian Fossey and the historic Karisoke Research Center. - Second Gorilla Trek (optional, permit required):
For those seeking another close encounter, trek a different gorilla family for a unique perspective.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, either stay in Musanze or transfer back to Kigali, depending on your flight schedule.
Overnight & Dinner Options:
